Vacancy for an Assistant Headteacher 

Part time, permanent, 21 hrs per week, starting from Sept 2019. 

(3 days/week from 7.30am-3.30pm)

  

Al-Noor Primary Independent School have moved into a purpose built state of the art building in September 2018. The building is shared with the with the new Al-Noor Primary VA which opened in September 2018.

The school is therefore looking for an excellent classroom practitioner with experience of middle leadership or higher, who has the leadership and management skills to play a key role in the Independent School as an Assistant Head. This position though part-time this year will become full-time in the future, so candidates applying should have the capacity to take on the full-time position from the following year.

 

The Assistant Headteacher will have some shared responsibility for behaviour and be directly responsible for:

  • monitoring the school’s assessment data and processes;
  • overseeing the tracking of pupil progress in all subjects;
  • overseeing the identification and tracking of groups of pupils, including those requiring interventive support;
  • monitoring standards in teaching and learning in an area of the school curriculum.

 

The ideal candidates:

  • hold relevant qualifications and QTS;
  • can demonstrate significant impact on pupil learning in previous positions;
  • have attained a high level of proficiency in the core professional standards of teaching, particularly in teaching and learning; 
  • have experience of curriculum leadership;
  • strongly support our vision and are highly motivated;
  • are effective team players and will contribute to extra-curricular provision;
  • are committed to safeguarding children and are suitable to work with them;
  • would be positive & enthusiastic role models for our pupils.
