Annual Boat Race
Fairlop Waters, Forest Road, Barkingside, IG6 3HN
What is the Al-Noor Annual Boat Race?
The Al-Noor Annual Boat Race is an event which has been established by the Al-Noor Foundation in the Summer of 2018, at Fairlop Waters in the London Borough of Redbridge. The next event will take place on 3rd July 2027 (subject to change).
The event is open to all schools, faith groups, charities and corporate organisations. The event aims to unite the community whereby individuals, families and organisations have the opportunity to raise money for charitable causes which are close to their hearts, by simple registering for a boat and participating in the race.
Why a Boat Race?
Boat races are part of the great heritage of British culture and an amazing way to unite both competitors and communities together behind a common cause.
Dragon Boat racing is something which is growing in popularity in the UK, originating from Southern China’s Guangdong Province. The boats we will be using can accommodate up to 17 riders at a time and will be provided by a specialist Dragon Boat company which the Foundation has partnered up with to run the event.

Amazing day out with the team, terrific atmosphere, great competition and above all an amazing way to raise money for the school.
Majid Ishaque, Headteacher
This was a phenomenal event, good friendly competition in an amazing location outdoors whilst raising much needed funds for a huge range of causes. Can’t wait for the next one!
Shaikh Fuad Abdo, Imam
The Al-Noor boat race was the highlight of Muslims in Rail’s events calendar in 2019. To this day we look back fondly on the memories and experience. We were blown away by the organisation and the family atmosphere made it a great day out for all!
Mahfuz Miah, Trustee
An absolute fantastic day out for the whole family and everyone had great fun participating on the day. 2 years on and we still talk about it. Great memories.
